About Me

Hello! My name is Jessica Stanley and I am the artist behind the pieces you see at Lucky Mud Pottery.

I live with my husband and two kids, along with our two dogs and two cats, in lovely Southern New Hampshire.

When I’m not in the studio I enjoy reading, watching movies, photography, and karate.

A Little Backstory

I grew up on a small farm in Upstate NY. It was here, on the farm, that I found my love of animals. I graduated from Northland College in Ashland, WI with a BS in Biology.

I took that love of animals and used it while working at vet’s offices, animal shelters, and my favorite, as a zookeeper at Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, NY as well as at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs, CO.

After meeting my husband, we decided to move to New Hampshire and start a family. We have two beautiful kids; a daughter and a son.

After my son was born, I decided to take my first pottery class. In 2014, I started taking classes at a wonderful studio in Mont Vernon, NH run by the talented, Janice Shaughnessy. It didn’t take long for me to become hooked on creating pottery.

In 2021, I decided to create my own pottery studio to be able to sell my work, and Lucky Mud Pottery was born!
